We leave for Oregon tomorrow night. We don't arrive until 10:00 in Portland but we are so excited! We have been having such nice warm weather here (not that I am complaining) but it will be nice to get to the cold and wet and maybe it will feel a little more like Christmas (and being with family always helps!). Chad can't wait to meet Emma and Tyler just learned how to say Emma today so he is ready for some fun with his cousin also! See a lot of you soon!

One of the perks of living in a big city (and a sunny one at that) is we have lots of attractions to visit. We have yearly passes to the San Diego Zoo and to SeaWorld so I have fun taking Tyler with friends and then Chad and I like to go on the weekends for a few hours. I went earlier this week with my friend Roilyn and we met Kate and her two kiddos though. It is so much fun to watch Tyler look at the animals because he gets so excited! He also like picking up the hay in the petting zoo. He goes home dirty but very happy!

Today we went to a little Christmas carnival with our friends John and Kate. There were inflatable bounce houses and slides, real reindeer, carolers, Santa and snow (which was more like a block of ice!). We had fun although it was pretty crowded so we decided not to wait in the line to see Santa. Afterward our plan was to go to the Christmas parade in Coronado only to find out it was LAST night. So we walked around the new mall and then went to Islands for dinner. They sent Chad a coupon for a free entree and a free slice of Kona pie so we went cheap tonights! Here are some pics from today.

What is this cool stuff?!?

I am trying to learn photoshop because I thought it would be neat if I could do my own cards, invites, etc. I made a mock Christmas card and also a birth announcement for Emma. I am still totally new at this but it is fun!

Chad is 31 today! Man, we are getting old :) He had a water polo tournament that he coached today and got home at about 4:00. Then he played with Tyler until 5:30 when we dropped him off at the grandparents and went to dinner. We went up to the casino because they serve all you can eat crab on Friday and Saturday nights. So we ate a lot of food, then each stuck a dollar in the slot machine (I won $10!), the we went to Best Buy. Chad picked out a new video game for his birthday which he is excited about. Now we are home, he is trying out the new game, Tyler is sleeping soundly and I am headed to bed! It is the big Parent Connection Swap Meet tommorrow morning (shhh...don't tell I am skipping church).

We have a lot of little parks around us so we like to take Tyler when we can. This weekend we were able to go bike riding a lot and then we stopped at some parks. Tyler's favorite is the slide, he will go down as long as we let him! He just loves when his daddy is there, he is Chad's little man!

We had a great Thanksgiving. Tyler and I slept in while Chad went surfing and then we went and met him at the beach. We played around on the beach for awhile before coming home and Tyler took a nap. We then headed to Chad's grandparents house for a feast! Grandma made turkey, ham, macaroni & cheese, two different kinds of potatoes, 3 vegetable dishes, 3 different kinds of salad, 3 pies and so much more. Chad's parents, an aunt, an uncle and two cousins were there. Tyler had a great time picking oranges off great grandpa's tree and visiting with all of great grandma's parrots (I think she has 5 or six!). After that we stopped by Mark & Susan's and said hi and then took an exhausted Tyler home (where of course he ate more!). Here are some pics!

Morning sickness that is. Now, I haven't yet thrown up (I know, TMI) but I feel like I am a car that is winding down a hill and in circles and I can't get out. It is a horrible horrible feeling. That being said, as Abby and I were talking about, it is just a reminder of the wonderful life we are growing inside of us and is all worth it in the end. I was just so hoping that this baby didn't follow in Tyler's footsteps and let me get away with no morning sickness! The problem today was trying to find any food to eat that didn't make me want to puke. Settled on a banana, apple and popcorn. Good thing for vitamins!!

So I went back to work. Well, not really but kind of. I activated myself on the substitute list when a teacher I used to work with was begging me to cover for her for three days. So I worked Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I really enjoyed it and realized I miss being in the classroom! That being said, I would never ever change this opportunity to stay at home with Tyler. My mother in law was able to help watch Tyler as was one of Chad's old students who is now going to school to be a preschool teacher. I think I will continue to substitute on occasion (maybe once a week) to make some extra money. Anyway, here are some pics from this week!

So for an early birthday present for Chad we got a new waterproof camera. It goes up to ten feet under water and supposedly you can drop it from 5 feet or so and it is fine (although Chad won't let me test this theory). When I bought it they tried to sell me insurance in case it got water damage or I dropped it. Hmmm...since those are supposed to be the specs of the camera I think I will pass! Anyway, Chad and Tyler had some fun in the shower testing out the new camera!

We had a great time on Halloween. In the morning Tyler and I went up to Chad's school, Robin's work and my old school where I taught. He had a lot of fun and got waaayyy too much candy! In the evening when Chad was done we went to a little carnival at YMCA's Camp Surf then went trick or treating at a couple of our friend's houses. By 7:15 he was tuckered out and ready for bed. He had a lot of fun and has no fear of people in costumes or masks! We got one lone trick or treater at our house so we have too much left over candy! Time to unload it on Chad's students :)

Well, the garden hasn't died yet! I think it is mainly due to the fact that Tyler has taken it upon himself to make sure that it is good and watered. Daddy had to show him once how to use the hose and then off he went to water. Such a good little helper already. Now, if only I could teach him to dust and clean toilets :)

This weekend Chad and I decided to pretend we have green thumbs. Our good friends Dave and Angi recently moved to Texas so we took on the responsibility of transplanting a couple of their trees and vines from their house to ours. We also added one of our own and a dwarf lime tree. We removed some of the ice plant that goes down the side of the driveway and made our own little garden. Tyler loved spending the time outside helping rake, shovel, water, and play in the dirt! Now our goal is to not kill them!
