What a quiet day!

I was supposed to work today and my job got cancelled. Robin had taken the day off to watch Tyler so she still offered to take him in the morning. Tyler slept until 9:00 (!!) and then he ate breakfast and Robin picked him up. I went and got him at 12:00 and we ate lunch with daddy in his classroom until 1:00. Then home for a nap. After nap Chad was home for the day and took Tyler outside to play. At 4:30 my friend Roilyn came over to go walking and Chad decided to take Tyler to the beach to play and then ended up at his school to watch some of the basketball game. I stopped by for a few minutes and they came home at 7:00 in time for Tyler to eat a quick supper and off to bed. I feel spoiled today as I did a TON of relaxing (and some schoolwork) in a very quite house by myself. Doesn't happen often, wouldn't want it to happen often, but it was a very nice day for mommy :)

15 week belly pic

Well, 15 weeks today. Can't believe how fast time is going! Can't wait to find out if this little sprout is a little girl or a little boy! My good friend Kate's mom just took the job as head of labor & delivery for Kaiser (my hospital) so we are trying to convice her to sneak us in for a gender check :)

Here I am at 15 weeks! Ignore the hair, I just got out of the shower!

It has to be a girl.

Okay, so this child likes stressing me out already! Many of you know that upon going for my first appointment, the midwife couldn't find a heartbeat and proceeded to tell me she thought I would miscarry. I was sent to the hospital where they found a strong heartbeat immediately (the machines there are so much better!). My next appointment at 10 weeks was great, all bloodwork came back normal and the ultrasound showed baby measuring right on with a strong heartbeat.
Fast forward to today. Midwife tries to no avail find heartbeat on doppler. Then says it is still early and sometimes she can't pick up the heartbeat but wants to grab the ultrasound machine to make sure all is well. I can't take this stress anymore!! Anyway, she finds baby moving around everywhere (I have started feeling tiny little pokes occasionally!), a little higher than she thought with the heart beating away nice and strong. I tried to get her to tell me the sex but the machines are so bad that she couldn't tell even if she wanted to. Last week I had issues with labored breathing and a racing heart and today my pulse was higher than she liked so I have to go back in four weeks to make sure all is well (resting heartrate was 106 and they like 70 - 80. Normally I wouldn't be seen for 8 weeks. So, anyway, this baby has to be a girl. Tyler wasn't nearly as uncooperative!

A fun weekend (so far!)

It has been fun this weekend hanging out with the fam. Friday Tyler and I took pizza to the girls water polo team. Chad and I do that for each of his teams once a season. The girls chose Friday for their pizza but then lost the game (BADLY) and decided they were not hungry. Chad and I have a lot of pizza here if you want some :)
Yesterday Chad surfed in the morning while Kate and Nolan came over and played. Then we had family nap time. After nap Chad, Tyler and I went to SeaWorld. Tyler has SO much fun there! When I went to see how much the Sky Ride was ($5/person) I decided we weren't going to pay to do it but the guy gave it to us for free. Tyler thought that was pretty awesome. We get to ride for free at the zoo but this one is above water and pretty neat. After SeaWorld we went to Soupplantation for dinner and then went to Calvary Chapel to listen to one of Chad's college friends perform. She was just voted best new acoustic artist in San Diego. Such an amazing voice!

This morning our dear friend David arrived from Texas. He is staying with us for a few days as he has to pick up some stuff he left when they moved and also attending a real estate course. It is so nice to have visit with him (although I wish Angi and the kids were with him!). I am super excited to go to Texas next month and seem them. After church we treated David to some good ol' Mexican food and then the football madness began. Poor Chargers lost but it was still fun! I went shopping in the afternoon and then Chad, David, Tyler and I met some other friends and went hottubbing. After dinner Chad and David settled down for more football and some UFC fighting but now I am not sure either are awake.
Tomorrow we are going to barbeque. Chad has the day off so we are going to grill up some meat and enjoy good food with good friends. I love long weekends!

They want how much?!?

So along with Abby, I am back in school. For the past few years I have been working on my teaching credential. I have all the core classes done but there are two "co-requisite" classes I have left to take. I started one of those on Monday. It is online and it is Health Education K - 12. I just got the bill. It is a four week class. Want to know how much it is going to cost...$1377. I cannot believe it. On top of that, I have the other class to pay for and then I even though they are waiving part of my student teaching because I taught in my own classroom I still have to pay for that. I am looking at another $8000 - $10,000 I think. Ummm...not sure if this credential will get done. Boo.

Words, words and more words

Tyler is talking up a storm and learning so much every day. He can now point out his eyes, nose, tounge, ears, hair and teeth. It is so cute. Every day it seems he is learning new words! A few of my favorite are outside, airplane, baby, bubble, Emma (sometimes interchangable with Elmo), happy, more, bum bum & pee pee (we are slowly working on potty training!), pool, ocean, and I always love mama and dada. It is so neat watching him learn so much every day!!

We're back!!

After two weeks of traveling we arrived home safely yesterday morning. We were in Oregon for five days and then off to Cabo for 10 days (an update and pics on that to come soon!). We had a great time with the Kirkbrides and Kelleys in Oregon and enjoyed good food, good drinks and lots of laughs. Here are LOTS of pics from the trip to up north!
