Surfing

Chad and some guys down here are big into paddle surfing. This involves a very large board with a paddle. Pretty cool to do in the surf or flatwater. They have a website going (check it out www.paddlesurf.net) and there are often photos posted there (many of which I take!). Chad and his buddy John teach lessons and they make a nice amount doing something they would do anyways! If anyone wants to come visit and give it a try you have some great teachers (and we won't charge you!). I put Tanner in the baby Bjorn, Tyler loves to run around in the sand and I snap photos. Here are a few I have taken!

Rolling over

Tanner rolled from his belly to back today. What a big boy :) I have been trying to get him on his belly more because he tends to be lazy about lifting his head. He would prefer to just put it down and look around. When he rolled he was not at all too happy about it.

Started out on his belly trying to lift his big head

A photo I snapped of Daddy and his boys right before I ran out the door to go hottubbing. It was SO nice to sit in the hottub and enjoy it without being pregnant!

And on a funny note (although I didn't get a picture) Chad and his good friend (also a teacher) showed up to work today wearing the exact same shirt. They were sitting at the same table for the meetings and just the thought of the two of them in the same shirt makes me laugh. Needless to say, I dropped off Chad another shirt on his break!

Cute boys

Today is Chad's first official day back at work. He also started water polo practice yesterday and is doing two a day. First one at 6:00 am and the next at 3:00pm. This week is meetings and teacher preparation and then the kids come back next Tuesday. He was home over lunch though so he played with Tyler while Tanner and I went out with some of my teacher friends for lunch. It will be strange having him gone all day! I will actually have to accomplish things while caring for two children :) Right now they are both sleeping and I should be cleaning but instead I am blogging. Oh well! Anyway, on to the more important stuff...pics of my cute boys.

Our almost daily trip to the beach always involves a bath as Tyler turns into quite the gymnast when he hits the sand

Going Crazy

I am pulling my hair out trying to potty train Tyler. He is showing all the signs, telling me when he is wet/poopy, staying dry during naps - sometimes even overnight, interested in the potty, etc., but for the life of me I cannot get him to go in the potty. He has done it a handful of times but there is no consistancy. He wasn't a fan of sitting on the big potty on his own seat so I sucked it up and bought him his own even though I will have to clean it. We have tried running the water, having daddy pee with him, all sorts of things but he just sits there and giggles. I can have him sit for 20 minutes with nothing and then stick him in the bath and immediately he pees! I was seeing what others say on the subject and Dr. Dobson said that most children are not completely potty trained until age 5 and some older than that at night, and most children are not even ready to train until about age 3!! What?!? I do not want him in diapers that long! My goal was to have him trained before 2. I KNOW he will be before 3, now just wish us luck to get it done before 2. Anybody have any ideas I can try let me know!

A few belated Benton County Fair pics!

We thought Chad, Tyler and Tanner should experience the good ol' BCF! Tyler had so much fun riding a couple of rides, climbing on the tractors, petting and feeding the animals and of course what better way to end the night than with a Three Dog Night concert!

My favorite outfit

I put on one of my favorite outfits that Tyler wore on Tanner today. I had to snap pictures of him in it and then went and found pics of Tyler in the same outfit. Looking at Tyler now it is hard to believe that he was ever that little!

On another note, I am back in the workout mode and I HURT! I have been alternating days and walking 3 miles one day, running 2.5 miles the next. I may have to just rethink things and go with Jenna's philosophy on it - eat what you want, don't work out, complain about gaining/not losing weight :) It feels good to start exercising again but man, I can't wait to build up endurance and let these muscles relearn what they need to do so I can walk like a normal human.

One month old already

My sweet baby is already a month old as of yesterday. How time is flying by! He is doing so well and is just so laid back and mellow. As long as he is fed (and trust me, you will know when he is hungry!) he likes to just hang out, sleep and cuddle. Tyler is still doing wonderful as a big brother and is so gentle and loving. He likes to kiss Tanner and hold him and try and help with his pacifier. Here are a couple of pics and cheers to the next month!

Some comparison photos

Here are a couple of photos of Tyler and Tanner at the same age (four weeks old). I think they look similar, but I think they are looking less alike as Tanner gets older. Definately a brotherly resemblance but now I can look at their pictures and tell them apart :)

Back to blogging

We are now home from our wonderful Oregon trip and settling back into the "routine" of summer. We had so much fun (more pics to come later) but in the meantime I thought I would share a few more pics of Tanner. I think he is looking less and less like Tyler. I will post a few comparison photos shortly to see what you all think. He is doing so wonderful and still very laid back. He will be four weeks tomorrow and has already graduated to size 1 diapers and outgrown all his newborn clothes. Tanner is only waking once or twice a night to feed so I am managing to get enough sleep which is a blessing in itself. So much easier to function that way, especially with a toddler. Tyler is Chad's shadow right now so I get to run all my errands with just Tanner so it will be interesting to see how it goes when Chad returns to work in a couple of weeks!
