This past weekend we were BUSY! Friday night we went to the water polo tournment with Chad ending with a nice mexican dinner at the hole in the wall place with the some hungry members of the team. We got home around 9:00 pm and Chad left the next morning by 8. I took the boys to the Imperial Beach Fire Department Open House and Tyler had a blast of course. I then packed them up and we went to Point Loma Nazarene University for their Fall Festival. We took a carriage ride, Tyler rode a pony, went to the petting zoo, got a pumpkin, and much more. The cool thing was that it was all free! They had bounce houses and face painting and free pizza. Pretty cool! We then headed to the tournament and Tyler got to play with Chad in the tot play area of the pool inbetween Chad's games. We race home after the game in order to make it to the party that was held Saturday night for the surf contest Chad was in Sunday morning. We enjoyed the time with friends and ate some yummy tacos from the taco man that came. There was a live band and a silent auction. Fun night. We went home exhausted and woke up bright and early on Sunday morning to get to the beach for the contest. We spent the morning at the beach, Chad surfed in the contest and then we headed home. We spent the rest of the day with Dave, Shannon and Rossi (our neighbors) trying out Chad's new Big Green Egg (a ceramic grill), riding bikes and skateboards, doing some gardening and then we all ate dinner together. It was a ton of fun but an exhausting weekend. Here are some pics from the Fire Department Open House (Rossi was there too!).
Rossi, Tyler and Sparky (aren't the man hands coming from the dog costume a little creepy?!?)

Jenn - I would like to see the 12 month picture of Emma in the black chair please.
Jenna - I would like to see more pictures of Apple please. Also, I would like to know how meal planning is going and if you have any great tips to share with me!
Abby - I would like to know how the binky situation is going. Hope you are getting more sleep!
Amy - I would like to see some more pictures of Colorado and around where you live since I haven't been there and it has to be a heck of a lot prettier than Philly! And PS - are there murders outside your window like there were in Philly? Remember when that guy killed someone (I swear he did) right outside the window and I didn't want to move in my bed in case he decided to shoot me because I witnessed it? Not joking blog readers...be glad my friends got out of there safe :) Also, I would like to see some pictures of Andrew and Joshua at the same age. I like comparison photos!
Cherie - ummm...pretty much time for you to do a whole lot of updates! I want to see the new house!
Christina - Let's see some new pictures of Brody and hear all the new things he is doing!
Megan - I would like to see some photos of the boys together. I love brother photos :) I also want to see some of Ryan's two year pictures!
Ruby - I want to know how the training is going. Are you ready for your big endeavor??
Thanks friends! I have a lot to think about during my middle of the night feedings which Tanner is liking more and more and more these days. What happened to my great sleeper?!? I think him and Noah have conspired against Megan and I. Naughty boys.

Yesterday Tanner was three months old. I love watching him grow although a part of me is sad he is getting so big. I love this little boy so much.
Talking to me
All swaddled up for a nap in the swing
More stretching...I think it is so cute!
It's three am, they're all asleep, and no one is here to see.
As we rock slowly back and forth, my baby boy and me.
His little hand is feather light tucked up against my chin.
I hold his tiny hand in mine, and stroke his baby skin.
The house about us creaks and groans, the clock hands creep around.
He snuggles closer to me still, and makes his baby sounds.
I love these quiet hours so much, and cherish every one.
Store memories up inside my heart for lonely nights to come.
All too soon he'll be grown up, his need for Mama gone.
But until then I still have time for kisses and for song.
Time for quiet hours like this with him cuddled in my arms.
Where I wish he'd always stay protected, safe and warm.
And yet I know the day will come when his tiny little hand,
will be bigger than my own. He'll grow to be a man.
But until then he's mine to love with no one here to see.
As we rock slowly back and forth, my baby boy and me.

Okay, so most of the "pumpkin patches" around here are in parking lots where some hay is layed down, pumpkins brought in and inflatable slides and bouncy structures are set up. Really fun but I wanted an authentic pumpkin patch experience so I found a pumpkin patch online and decided we should all go out there on Saturday. Now, mind you it is an hour drive and we get there and ALLLLLLL of San Diego must have also wanted the authentic experience because it was absolutely packed. We took the tractor hayride which Tyler loved but the lines for everything were super long so we just walked around. We went in the shop and tried a homemade truffle, looked at the geese and then picked pumpkins. Turns out, the only ones to pick are the Big Macs which we didn't need a super big one and the rest were already picked in piles in the field. Oh well, it was a great family day and we enjoyed ourselves!
On the hayride
Looking over the cornstalks (he picked the orange and wouldn't let it go!)
Tanner thought it was pretty fun too.
The Big Mac Pumpkins
Tyler found his perfect pumpkin!
The orange reminds him of the Beavers. Go Beavs!

I have been hitting the gym hard since joining two weeks ago. I feel so good although I haven't dropped a pound. In fact, I am the same weight to the exact OUNCE I was the day I started. Not going to let it get me down though. So I set a goal. Every year Imperial Beach hosts a triathalon and I am going to do it! I believe it is a sprint triathalon. Here is what it entails:
1/2 Kilometer (0.31 miles) Ocean Swim
15 Kilometer (9.32 miles) Bike
5 Kilometer (3.11 miles) Run
That is my goal. Anyone want to join me?? I just have to find a bike to do some biking on. I think I may get laughed at if I try and do it on my beach cruiser ;) I have awhile to go - I believe it is in August. So there you have it.

We went to SeaWorld (again!) today. It was so much fun. John and Kate recently got passes also so we joined them and Braydon and Nolan. Tyler loves having his buddies around. It was SO hot out today but the kids didn't seem to mind a bit. And Tyler found Big Bird and Elmo and no one was around so he got some quality time with his favorite Sesame Street characters.
Tanner enjoying himself
Checking out the tide pools with Braydon and Kate
In the aquarium although you can't see the fish behind him
With Elmo (Nolan wanted NOTHING to do with the characters...I think he thought they may eat Tyler!)
He would like Big Bird to pick him up
Had to get Tanner in for a picture too!
Until next time...
