Forever 21

I went to a memorial service for a wonderful girl who Chad taught and coached for 4 years. He knew her since she was twelve. She was passionate, joyful, caring, adventurous and encouraging. Kristi loved God, family, friends, animals, photography, the outdoors, rock climbing, swimming and water polo. A scholar-athlete and homecoming queen, she graduated from Mar Vista High School, and was a college student. She was at our house last month with the same smile I remember throughout the years.
"How could we know that your heart would crush under the cares of this world and cause you to be too soon homesick for heaven..."
She will be greatly missed and very fondly remembered.

Cousin Love

I love seeing all the little ones together. I had so much fun with my cousins growing up and I hope my kids have just as much fun. Right now there are four...any day and it will be five. I can't wait for us all to be together again!

Grownup Night Out

On Saturday we were able to go out with the other couples from our Bible Study for a nice dinner. Our goal is to go out together every other month for birthday celebrations but in reality this is only the second time this year we have gone. We aim to do better next year! We ate outside on the heated patio and enjoyed a rainy night in San Diego. We had a great night laughing and just enjoying time together. I really love these guys!

Fun at SeaWorld

I took the boys to SeaWorld yesterday morning. It was cloudy and a bit chilly and that apparently scared of most everybody since the park was empty! We saw Shamu, the dolphins, turtles, checked out the tide pool, saw two different aquariums and ended up at the Sesame Street Bay of Play to ride a ride and play around. It was a fun time and the boys enjoyed it as always. Chad's parents are taking us to Breakfast with Shamu and Santa on Saturday so we will be back!

With the Polar Bear (Tanner felt the same way about the Polar Bear as he did about Santa)

Stormy San Diego

We had a pretty big storm pass through here yesterday. It rained HARD all day long. And the wind was crazy too. My boys were fascinated by the rain. I finally gave in and got them bundled up to play outside. Tyler loved to run around and splash in the puddles. Tanner figured out he really just liked looking at the rain, not so much being IN the rain. So, we got Rossi to come play outside with Tyler. They had a blast and Shannon and I finally had to call it quits because we were freezing!

The rain is NOT fun mommy!

Christmas Season Has Begun!

The lights are up, the tree is decorated and lit, cookies are in the oven and Christmas carols are played and Christmas movies are watched. I love this time of year! The boys got to see Santa today down at the beach (he came in a fire truck) and Tyler got to ride a "reindeer". Tyler loved both experiences, Tanner could have done without. The countdown is on until we head to Oregon to celebrate with the family!

Flowers on the doorstep

I came home the other day and there were flowers on my doorstep. The president of the organization I work for sent them to me on behalf of him and the members of the board to say how thankful they were for me during this time of Thanksgiving. Made my heart feel warm.

Baking cookies

Well, baking season is upon us. I find around fall the oven is filled with breads, muffins and cookies. I enjoy baking and I love to share with those around us! It's a win win situation because then the treats don't sit here in the house for only us to eat! Tyler helped me make daddy's favorite cookies. The Hershey Kiss Peanut Butter Blossoms. Tyler unwrapped all the hershey kisses and helped me put everything together, roll the cookies in balls and then in the sugar. Tanner ran around with daddy playing until the cookies were done. I didn't try any since peanut butter is not one of my favorites but my boys assure me they were delicious!

Jenn - I hope you are ready for this.

My kids LOVE this ball pit. They can spend hours in this thing! That being said, I have balls EVERYWHERE. We are always picking them up! Just get ready Jenn, just get ready.
