Beautiful Day at the Beach

Yesterday morning we hit up the beach for a couple of hours. It was so warm and sunny. Tyler and Chad ran around and played football, Tyler fed the birds, Tanner experienced crawling in the sand (and also what it tastes like), Tyler ran around in the waves and Chad got a small surf session in before it became blown out. It was a wonderful way to spend the morning!

Hello from Us

I have been a bad blogger recently. Nothing out of the ordinary going on here. My bootcamp finished last Friday. This week is the first time in 6 weeks that I have not woken up at 5:00 am to work out. Needless to say, I am finding that I really don't have the motivation to work out alone first thing in the morning and have not gotten up early once this week (as was my intention). Four times this week I put the boys in the jogging stroller and ran to the beach and back. So I haven't done too bad. Bootcamp starts again on April 13th and I am going to sign up again!
Tyler is loving playing wiffle ball. He has so much fun with his team. He play the position of pitcher and has caught on to get the ball and throw it to first. While I love watching him play, it is kind of sad how big he has gotten. He loves to do everything himself. Lately his favorite things to do are to play golf in the backyard and play football with dadddy (not mommy, I am told it is just for boys).
Tanner is growing like a weed and loves to eat. Anything and everything (non food items included). He is starting to crawl more on his hands and knees but still prefers the army crawl. He recently started pulling himself up and yesterday started saying dadadadada. I would have thought I would have one kid that said mama first but no such luck.
Next Saturday morning we will pack up and head out to Oregon! Get ready all you Oregonians!

The other day I was putting away laundry and the boys went in the bathroom. I found Tyler with q-tips out of his ears. Totally funny (and yes, he now knows not to play with them as I don't want him poking his ear drums)

It is getting warm enough to start swimming again. We went on Sunday up to the pool at the high school. Tanner sat out with Shannon and I because it was a little breezy but Rossi and Tyler had a great time swimming with Chad. Tyler was jumping off the diving board again, and again, and again. I can't believe the kid has no fear! It was fun to watch them swim for a bit. Tyler will be starting swimming lessons again in April. He is looking forward to it!

Little Slugger

Tyler had his first wiffle ball game yesterday. He had SO much fun. I was a little nervous since he is definately the youngest and I wasn't sure how he would like it but he LOVED it. He ran after every ball, hit the ball well, just had fun with the other kids. He is the youngest as you technically have to be 3 to play but I know the right people :) Sorry for the picture overload but it is just so cute!

Tyler and mommy fun

The carnival came to the park down the road from us. I saw a sign yesterday that on Thursday from 5 - 10 pm it was $0.75 rides. Since Chad tore his minisicus (spelling?? - knee injury!) he was out. He will be on crutches and in a brace for a bit. I put Tanner to bed and then Tyler and I went to the carnival. Of course, I forgot my camera but we had so much fun. He rode all the rides and had a permanent smile on his face. It was so neat to spend time with just the two of us doing something special. After the carnival I stopped and bought him an ice cream. He was on cloud nine! Apparently they are moving to another park next week and are having the same special so we may go again! Since I didn't take photos of us at the carnival here are some photos we got taken earlier in the week (thank you $4.99 Sears photos!)

Bumpa and Nana came to visit!

We had so much fun with my parents over this last weekend. That being said, we were not too great about taking pictures. On Thursday we picked them up, went on a walk, and had a great carne asada barbeque for dinner. On Friday my parents and I took the kids to the Children's Museum. It was fun but we decided it really wasn't worth the money. On Saturday we picked up sandwiches and planned to catch the ferry from Coronado to downtown and then tour the USS Midway. The ferry was only running every hour so we had a picnic at the beach and then drove over to the Midway. It was an amazing tour although probably a bit much for 2 year olds. I cannot believe how big those ships are. We then tried a place that Chad and I had heard about for dinner called The Godfather. I called to make sure they were casual and family friendly. They said they were. The guys answering the door in tuxedos should have been our first clue. We were really underdressed but they put us in the Presidential Room (ie: people with kids room) and we had an awesome dinner.
We had a great visit and can't wait to see them again!
