Pictures

A couple of weeks ago Chad was down at the beach with his water polo and swim teams taking team pictures. We were headed out that evening but he said to come down for a bit and so I threw on some sweats and took the kids down. When we get down there the photographer wants to take a family photo. Tyler was less then thrilled to have to stop his football game. Tanner looks adorable. Chad and I look okay minus the pink sweat pants. Note to self, always be ready for unexpected family photo opportunities!

Tyler had his Little League photos also a couple of weeks ago. I think he looks so old in his photo. I can't believe how fast he is growing up. I can't believe that all the kids are actually looking in the right direction for the team photo...now if only they can figure out how to do that at a game :) The team photo is missing two little boys also but that is his adorable little team.

As a mother

How do you let your home situation get so bad that the police and CPS have to intervene and take away your children? You choose to do drugs, you choose to drink excessive amounts of alcohol, you continue in a violent, volitle relationship that escalates into fights that are so out of control I am sure I am watching an episode of COPS. Having my own children and knowing that I would do absolutely anything for them, sacrifice anything for them, give my life for them, I cannot fathom making my own choices that have them taken from me. I can't stand to be away from my kids for a day let alone an undetermined period of time. To witness an autistic confused 12 year old boy, a sobbing 11 year old girl, a bewildered 3 year old and a precious 5 month old baby girl get packed up and taken to an unknown life for them hurts my heart and brings tears to my eyes. Parents are supposed to protect their children from harm, not inflict it. I just don't get it.

This weekend

Friday - I played Bunco with a bunch of crazy friends. I have never played before. I had so much fun. I also won $20 for having the most Buncos. Go me!

Saturday - The four of us went bike riding and ended up at the park to hit some golf balls. Then we went over to Tyler's wiffle ball game. After the game Chad spent the rest of the afternoon barbequing and making shrimp cocktail and ceviche. Yummy! It was a nice laid back afternoon with the family. This is also the night that my neighbor was the lovely recipient of a police taser gun. Nice. Probably time for him to learn to control his temper...just sayin.

Sunday - I woke up nice and early to hit the twice yearly Parent Connection swap meet with Kate. It is a swap meet with ALL kids stuff. I got some nice stuff for the boys. Lots of Gap, Gymboree, Quicksilver, etc. Didn't pay more than a dollar for anything! When I got home we packed up and went to the Padre game. It was a lot of fun. We stayed for about 5 innings then walked around the convention center and the bay. Then we went to a park in Coronado to play and then our last stop was to bring some dinner to Jeremy (he is in the hospital recovering from surgery).

It was an awesome weekend and I have not one picture to show for it. Good job mom. Gotta go...headed out to SeaWorld for the morning!

A trip to Oregon

Yeah, the bad blogger award goes to me. SLACKER! Sorry friends. I am trying to take after my sister (ha!).
We had an absolutely wonderful trip to Oregon. We enjoyed lots of time with family, a wonderful Filipino feast, big barbeques, playtime with Emma, Jenn, Pete, Brandon, Kayla and Nana & Bumpa, big barbeques and of course lots of golf for the golfers. I still am bummed that the Seven Stones Spa has closed before my chance to go :(
The drive up and back was not bad at all. We stopped both times in Corning, CA and spent the night. The boys were absolutely wonderful and well behaved in the car. I was so proud of them. Seriously, on the way up to Oregon neither of them cried ONCE. Not once. On the way home we had a melt down from Tanner but it was over quickly. What good road trippers they are! We miss everyone already but the boys and I will be back May 20th!
