Preschool Parade and Party

On Thursday, all the kids came to the preschool in costume and had a parade, went trick or treating and then had a party. It was a ton of fun to see all the little preschoolers in their costumes. They went trick or treating around the preschool campus and then came back to their classroom to eat pizza, cupcakes and candy. Pretty much a dream come true for Tyler!

A lot less muddy

The "pumpkin patch" that we took the boys too is really just a section of a parking lot of the mall. They throw down some hay, put out some pumpkins, set up rides and slides and voila, pumpkin patch! No need for boots here! The boys love it and we have already gone a handful of times. If you go during the day it is dead and you can get a ticket for $3 for them to ride the slide as many times as they want. It wears them out.

Pretty sure Tyler is tasting the hay in this picture. Nice.

Oregon Trip

The boys and I just got back from a wonderful trip to Oregon. The main reason we went was to meet little Ellyse. She is just so precious. Kind of makes me want to have another (until I heard her on and off throughout the night and then I was content to just hold her and pass her back!). The trip was a ton of fun and I forgot how beautiful fall is up there. We played outside, went to the bounce house place, went to a pumpkin patch (a real one, not one in a mall parking lot!), kids roasted marshmallows with Bumpa and Nana, and overall just enjoyed each others company. I can't wait to see everyone again in December!

Family time

It is a wonderful day when you get to spend it entirely with your family isn't it? Chad and I had so much fun with the boys today. We all got up early and headed to the beach. Chad was in a surf contest. Tyler, Tanner and I played around in the sand and cheered Chad on. He did great. After that we all headed home to shower and get cleaned up and we went to brunch. We filled ourselves up and headed to a park. We were out east so we went to a new park. We had the whole park to ourselves. We ran around and played and took pictures. We were there for a long time and wore ourselves out. We hopped in the car and headed to check out a couple of costume stores. Tyler really wants to be Superman but the costumes for his size are the exact same as his pajamas. He may just be wearing those. We headed home around 4:30 and when we got home Tyler wanted to go bike riding. For the first time we all rode bikes together (usually if Tyler is riding his own bike Chad or I is walking beside him). He did SO good and was so proud of himself that we all rode together. We got home and then played different games on the WII. Tyler loves it and in some of the games he is even catching on to what he needs to do. We fed the kids and tucked them in to bed and now they are sound asleep. I love spending quality time with my wonderful family! *and yes, Chad, Tyler and Tanner all have matching Superman shirts!*

Making Playdough

Tyler is really into playdough these days. He will sit outside at his table for a looonnngg time just cutting, rolling, pushing and making things. So, we decided to make our own playdough. I let him pick his koolaid flavor (that was how we colored it) and then we made some. It was super easy and a fun activity. The only thing I would suggest would be getting some cheap flour and not using your organic whole wheat white flour for the task :) Now he wants to make orange, yellow and blue. Looks like we will be making lots more playdough in the days to come!

He takes his job very seriously.

Spider Pops

Tyler has been wanting to make a treat to bring to his friends at school. Disney's Family website had some fun ideas to try so we went to the store today and got materials to make spider pops. They are easy and fun and I am sure the kids will love them. He wants to do spider cupcakes next!

Cancun

Chad and I had a wonderful, relaxing trip to Cancun. We stayed for a week and left the kids with Nana for the first 4 nights and Grandma for the last two. We were given the presidential suite to stay in that was right on the water. The views were amazing. We went to a water park and rode "big kid" slides, relaxed by the pool, went sailing, took a trip to the Palace were we honeymooned, ate late dinners, walked on the beach, golfed (Chad), relaxed at the spa (me), and just enjoyed each other. The resort was only at 10% occupancy which pretty much means that at times it seemed we were the only two people there. The peace and quiet was much enjoyed. While we did miss the kids immensely it was a wonderful trip for just the two of us as a belated 5 year anniversary celebration!
